Founded in 2010 and operating in the city of Freeport, G.B., Spartan Builders Ltd. is a Grand Bahama Port Authority and Bahamas Government licensed company, dedicated to serving clients with small, mid-size and large project needs. With a goal to provide quality services, performance, and safety, we aim to become the most innovative leaders in our field.
After realizing the need for top-quality workmanship, architectural excellence and responsive personal service, Spartan Builders was created with a mission to provide superior custom homes for discerning clients who insist on nothing less.
Over the next decade, what started as a team of one, flourished, and has since become one of the premiere builders in The Bahamas. Today, Spartan Builders employs over 20 staff members ranging from administrative, to field labourers and skilled workers.
To promote our philosophy of quality workmanship and to maintain our standard of excellence, over the years, we have built and fostered strong relationships with a community of subcontractors to provide opportunities to the next generation of this nation’s builders. Our reliable network includes members of various sub-trades such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, masonry, tile and propane installation, granite fabrication, heavy equipment operation, logistics brokerage, and more.

Over the last decade, Spartan Builders Ltd. has completed projects throughout The Bahamas specifically in Exuma and Abaco and have worked with a variety of clients including leading companies on the island of Grand Bahama.

Meet The Team
d’Sean Smith
d’Sean Smith is a licensed contractor with the Grand Bahama Port Authority and holds a degree in Drafting & Design from Texas Southern University in Houston, TX. Throughout his professional career, he has amassed over two decades of field experience and over a decade of drafting experience for both residential and commercial buildings. He has gained experience working as a Project Manager for local hardware supplier and has earned certifications in spray foam installation, water intrusion and in building projects, such as doors and windows.
In his youth, while working on various residential projects with his father, a contractor, d’Sean became immersed in the construction industry and developed a passion for building. Though he used each project as an opportunity to gain hands-on training, further his knowledge and refine his skill-set; d’Sean capitalized on those experiences to identify deficiencies in both building practices and industry standards.
After gaining his degree in Drafting & Design, d’Sean had one mission: to offer top-quality building services to the residents of The Bahamas. As an entrepreneur at heart, he channeled his passion for building, years of experience and desire to foster a new standard of workmanship into the creation of Spartan Builders. Since its founding in 2010, the company has flourished and become one of the premiere builders on Grand Bahama.
Cardra Smith
As Head of Operations, Cardra Smith oversees and monitors the daily operations of our company. She holds a Masters degree in Organic Chemistry from Georgia State University and currently has a certification in Spray Foam installation. Cardra functions as our lead safety person, ensuring the ongoing revision and development of initiatives and procedures to improve our operations. She believes in being a hands-on leader and regularly visits each job site to monitor quality and job safety.
Zack Smith
Zack Smith, a veteran in the construction industry, has accumulated over 40 years of professional experience in architectural drafting, contracting, and construction. In addition, he has gained nearly a decade of experience not only using AutoCAD software; but also, working as a building inspector with the Grand Bahama Port Authority. Zack currently holds certificates in construction management and has worked on numerous residential and commercial buildings, including high rise hotels.
Delicia Smith
Delicia has a BFA degree in Interior Design and Architecture from the University of Houston. She has been in the field for over ten (10) years with a background in high end retail design, commercial design, luxury residential designs and remodeling, lighting design and custom furniture. Her designs are unique to each project and her work speaks for itself. There is no denying that Delicia is a great talent that brings any design to life based on various budgets.
